Garden Gnome Heads with Laken

Minimum 3 students. Maximum 10 students.

Learn the steps to build playful gnome, santa, or elf heads for indoor or outdoor decoration. This class will include cutting clay, using a slab roller, hand-building forms, using tools to create texture, and more. Return at the end of the month to pick up fired pieces.

 

 

Claytime (with Laken Bridges and Lorin Zehr)

Claytime is an beginner-friendly hand-building series led by Laken Bridges and Lorin Zehr on alternating Mondays. Each session covers a different project. Students call follow along or use the project as a jumping off point for their creative exploration during the class time. Return for multiple weeks to build skill and learn new projects, NOTE: this series is focused on shape and texture in clay. Two days in this series are designated for underglazing and glazing your pieces. Students must register for those days in order to add color to any pieces created during the other sessions. All finished pieces will be covered in a clear zinc-free food safe glaze. Pieces will be available for pickup  after the final glaze firing at the end of this series.

4/29 – Grab Bag Slab-Building (w/ Lorin)

5/13 – Underglaze Day – Adding Color (w/ Laken) ($10 non-members, $5 members)

5/20 – Glaze day (w/ Lorin) (no charge; students must attend to glaze their piece)

5/23 – Pottery Pickup Day (10am-8pm)
