Eric Drummond Smith is an Artist and Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Virginia’s College at Wise. Currently, his work is on display December 29, 2022 – April 30, 2023 at William King Museum of Art in a solo exhibition titled Big, Ugly, Hullabaloo: The Work of Eric Drummond Smith. Inspired by surrealism, neo-expressionism, and Appalachian pop-culture, Smith intentionally creates colorful and humorous visual cues within his work that entice the viewer to look closer, think critically, and laugh while doing so.
