December Family Day: Seasonal Traditions
Family day is a monthly event that connects the local community to the museum. Family Day is a part of the Learning Families initiative at the WKMA, a set of programs designed for parents and children to enjoy together. Family day includes an art activity and interactive kid-friendly gallery tour.
Learn about Appalachian burial traditions in a positive light by creating an evergreen “grave blanket” bouquet for a historical figure and taking a family-friendly tour of Will the Circle be Unbroken?
Pick a random card that tells you about one of the historical figures buried at Sinking Springs, then seek out their tombstone and lay down your grave blanket.
Take home a free family guide for Will the Circle be Unbroken?
Family tours of Will the Circle be Unbroken? will leave at 1, 2, and 3 PM. Limit 10 persons per tour.
