Collage is a technique that involves combining disparate images and text to create a composition with new meaning. In this class, students will be guided through the collage process to create a work that celebrates or subverts existing systems and envisions their hopes or goals for the future. In a time filled with upheaval, disconnection, and differing viewpoints, students are invited to address the questions, “Now what?” and “What’s Next?”. Students will be invited to display their finished collages in the Art Lab for October and November as part of an interactive display inviting visitors to consider relationships between creativity and change.
