Installation Art & Creative Play

In this experimental and collaborative workshop, participants will learn about installation art and collaborate to create a unique art installation in the Art Lab. This creative process will be facilitated by resident artist Margaret Gregg.  Some supplies provided including ceiling hooks, fishing line, miscellaneous hardware, fabric and plastic and paper scraps, adhesives, paints, and small tools. Participants may choose to bring additional supplies and tools, including sewing machines. Participants will have the option of extra studio time with access to the workspace and tools during business hours Friday and Saturday)

Thursday, Friday, Saturday from 5 – 8 p.m. (with the option of independent studio time all day Friday and Saturday)
$150 non-members, $135 members

  • Class 1 – Thursday: Brief lecture – Survey of installation art by WKAM staff; brainstorming and playing with materials (facilitated / taught by Margaret Gregg)
  • Class 2 – Friday: Studio work time facilitated by Margaret Gregg (students are invited to come early to work independently)
  • Class 3 – Saturday: Studio work time and installation with WKMA staff and Margaret Gregg. (students are invited to come early to work independently)

Students and instructors are required to wear a mask and maintain physical distance. Class seating will be limited to 8 students or less. Minimum enrollment of 4 students. Students must register a minimum of one week in advance of any class. Masks are required for students and instructors
