Fall 2021 – Teen Lab Classes
Teen Lab takes participants through a variety of digital and physical media projects and film analysis to build technical skills and support the development of creative voice. Pick and choose your favorite weeks!
Cost: Pay-what-you-can. Suggested: $20/week
Required supplies: Notebook/sketchbook, pen/pencil, 32 GB USB drive (or larger), and access to cloud storage (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.)

• Drones!, October 4/6
Capture drone footage at the museum campus and then edit your own video.
(class is subject to change due to weather conditions)
• Drawing From Nature, October 11/13
Art making tools are more than just brushes and pencils- we will explore the museum campus collecting natural art-making tools and then use them with ink and paint to create works on paper
• Laser Cutting, October 18/20
Use Adobe Illustrator to design a small work, and then we will cut them from wood or plexiglass with the laser cutter. Students can make pendants, coasters, small signs or an art piece!
• 3D Printing, October 25/27
Use Tinkercad to create a 3d design, and then files will print before and during the second session.
• Digital Painting, November 1/3
Use the Wacom tablets and Adobe Photoshop to create a digital masterpiece!
• Movie Poster, November 8/10
Design a new poster for your favorite movie in Photoshop! Students will take home a print of their poster.
• Yupo Galaxies, November 15/17
Use super-smooth, durable Yupo paper to create experimental visual worlds using inks, watercolors and other household materials.
• Art Movie Day, November 22
Watch and discuss an artistically significant movie
• Music Video, November 29/December 1
Shoot and edit a video for your favorite song (or your own composition!)
• Monotype, December 6/8
Explore this expressive and unique printmaking technique using inks and paints on plexiglass and paper.
