Basic Photography

Shooting in manual mode allows you to control the exposure of your shot. It helps you bring your vision to life in a way that shooting in Auto can not. Learning to shoot in manual is the most important step in advancing as a photographer. This course is an introduction to shooting in manual mode with a DSLR. We will cover topics such as, the exposure triangle (aperture, shutter speed, ISO), metering modes, white balance, and focal points. This course is for a beginner photographer. If you already have a firm understanding of shooting in manual, this course is not for you. Students are encouraged to bring their own DSLR camera, but some may be available for use through Art Lab.
