Art in Bloom - Interpreting Art with Fresh Flowers

Designer David Pippin will give a brief talk and demonstration about ways to interpret works of art using fresh plant materials. After which, participants will create their own interpretive design of a work of art using the plant material provided. Participants must bring their own floral clippers and containers with pre-soaked oasis. Gloves and aprons are optional.

Art in Bloom - Edible Flowers with Charles Parker

Join us at the William King Museum of Art on Sunday, March 29th, at 2 p.m., where local chef and Southwest Virginia Culinary Ambassador, Charles Parker will be teaching us about edible flowers. Chef Charles will be showing us what flowers are edible in this region, and how to cook with them.  He will also do a cooking demo, using local edible flowers, as well as offer delicious samples for everyone to taste!

Designer Al Brockwell will demonstrate natural landscape floral designs.  Imagine digging up part of the forest and bringing it home to display and enjoy. Participants will create their own designs. Art in Bloom - Fashion Show

Enjoy an evening of spring fashion from Siegner’s Limited of Abingdon, Cabi Clothing Design presented by Pam Kramer, and Pretty Little Things.  The evening will include music, wine, cheese, and dessert bites amidst the stunning and colorful art by Elaine Fleck on display in our Panoramic Gallery for our 2020 Art in Bloom. An accessories display of scarves and jewelry will be available for purchase after the show with a portion of the sales benefiting William King Museum of Art.

William King Museum of Art is hosting a Lip Sync Battle at the Jack C. Smith Conference Center in Abingdon. Local celebrities will battle it out with DJ Grant Smiley for the Lip Sync Battle Championship.
