Support our exhibition Thinking Postmodern: Selections from the Radford University Art Museum
Dear Radford Alumni,
We are pleased to announce our latest exhibition entitled Thinking Postmodern: Selections from the Radford University Art Museum, which has been assembled as a part of your Centennial Celebration.
Please join us for the prevue reception Thursday, September 9, from 6-8pm. The exhibition will officially be open to the public September 10, 2010 through March 20, 2011. Thinking Postmodern focuses on what was being created after World War II, during a time that marked the end of the Modern Era and the beginning of what is referred to as Postmodern. Among the most notable artists to be featured in the exhibition are John Cage, Elaine de Kooning, Jasper Johns, Richard Tuttle, and Hannah Wilke.
We hope you will see this exhibition as an opportunity to become involved with our museum, if you are not already. Like all nonprofits, fundraising and volunteerism are essential to our survival. They enable us to present quality art exhibits to our region and take art education into surrounding schools. A simple way to contribute is to become a member. Every Radford Exhibition Donor will receive all membership benefits as well as special acknowledgement throughout the duration of the exhibit. We also invite you to participate in our evening lectures and programs, take an art class, and bring your friends. If you have a unique idea that would contribute to the mission of the museum, please contact us at leila.cartier@wkmuseum.org or call 276.628.5005.
Thank you for all you do as Radford Alumni living in southwest Virginia. We hope to see you soon.
Sincerely,
William King Museum
